Winter has arrived and somewhere we all love this season but due to its harshness on the skin, we get agitated to cope with it.

So Today, am sharing few simple, essential and healthy winter skin care tips which will make us enjoy this season without worrying about our skin.

 1) Stay Hydrated

As our body is composed of 60-70% water, so we need it in winter too though our thirst response is less. It’s important to drink an adequate amount of water to not only have a healthy skin but a healthy “YOU“. Water is good for overall health.  So start drinking.

2) Opt for Oil based Moisturizer

Oil-based moisturizer nourishes the skin from inside and helps to balance natural oil production. Moisturize straight after the shower as the water evaporates soon. Look for Moisturizer with SPF for best results.

3) Apply Sunscreen

This is the most important skin care tips one should follow. Even though we don’t feel sunrays- “UV rays that cause skin damage are present year-round, rain or shine or any season. About 70-80% UV rays reach earth even in winter. So apply sunscreen cream or lotion with at least SPF30 (Sun protection factor) every day for a healthy skin.

4) Take warm showers and Avoid Hot Baths

It feels pleasurable to have a hot shower in chilly mornings but avoid this as it removes your skin’s natural oils which cause a loss in moisture. So keep the water temperature mild for healthy skin. Use a mild, fragrance-free cleanser for bathing.

5) Take care of hands, feet, and lips

Apply hand cream or lotion after each hand wash because there are fewer oil glands in hands. You can even apply petroleum jelly before sleep for both hands and feet. Also, moisturize your lips constantly with a lip balm which includes SPF.

6) Exfoliate

The top layer of skin becomes dull and dry due to dead cells. So it’s always better to exfoliate the dead skin by using mild exfoliating scrub. Removal of dead skin will help moisturizer to absorb rapidly.

7) Wear soft fabrics and take off wet clothes

Take off Wet clothes as it can cause irritation, itching, and sores. Wear soft fabrics like cotton or silk.
