Whenever new Korean TV shows come on Netflix, I read the synopsis and if it excites me, then I tune in to watch.  Also, if the show has my favourite stars, it adds more reason to watch it.

However, I was not hooked to any new K-dramas in a while and couldn’t watch beyond 1 episode.  I tried watching some old dramas which I haven’t seen, but that too felt boring.

So I was wondering when I will be able to enjoy watching Korean shows again, as it’s already been 3-4 months that I haven’t liked any dramas.

Thankfully, Netflix’s new K-dramas have me now and I can give my time to them.  The below two dramas are currently airing on Netflix and every weekend two new episodes will come.

It means my weekends will be fun and wonderful. I have started liking these dramas and eagerly waiting for new episodes.

But if you are someone who prefers watching the show after full episodes are available, then wait for 8 weeks and watch it.

1. Forecasting Love and Weather

Genre: Romance, Rom-Com, Office romance

A diligent forecaster is in a 10-year relationship with her colleague and is soon to get married. But she caught him red-handed with another girl who works in their office and the wedding gets cancelled. That another girl was in a live-in relationship and now her ex-boyfriend is the co-worker of the forecaster.

As both were cheated by their respective partners, they get along and drink, and the next morning wake up only to find out they had slept together.

In the coming episodes, we will come to know how their story will go ahead.

My main reason for watching this Korean show is it has one of my favourite drama tropes– office romances, office drama and has Park Min Young.  She is so adorable that watching her makes the Korean drama more alluring. I loved her performance in ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?’ and ‘Her Private Life’ and her dramas are always worth watching.

2. Twenty Five Twenty One

Genre: Rom-Com

The Korean TV show is based during the IMF crisis means the financial crisis in South Korea in the late 1990s which was experienced by the Korean people.

Na Hee-Do (female lead) is a member of her high school fencing team, but due to the crisis, the fencing team gets disbanded because of no funds. She goes through a lot of difficulties to get admission to another school where she can pursue her dreams of becoming a member of the national fencing team.

The Korean financial crisis causes Back Yin-Jin (male lead) family to go bankrupt and separate from each other.  His life completely changes from living a wealthy life to poor life and this affects him a lot.

Also, due to their family business, many people visit him, curse him and ask for the debt payments which makes him sadistic and he promises to ‘never be happy again’ (This scene is too painful to watch 🙁 The male lead acting is amazing and you feel for that little boy.

He works part-time jobs like delivering newspapers and is in charge of a book store, during which he meets Na Hee-Do and connects with her which makes his life somewhat bearable.

Let’s wait and watch for the new episodes to know how their story will take forward.

I watched it on a whim without expecting much from the drama, but it engrossed me from the start. The plot is refreshing and the characters are brilliant.

My millennial heart is loving this 90’s era and making me reminisce my ‘good old youth’ days.

The heroine is portraying an 18-year-old student and I thought her age must be around it until I read about her on Google and found out she is 30 years old. But her cute innocent face looks like an 18-year girl and she is perfect for the role.

The main leads share such a good chemistry and it is fun to watch them. Also, the cinematography is splendid.

I enjoyed the available two episodes and waiting eagerly for the weekend.
