Absolutely adore Pune’s rainy season! Last weekend, we hit the road and headed to Maval, a picturesque region located just a short distance away from the bustling city.

Nestled amidst the lush Western Ghats, Maval offers a magical experience that will captivate your senses and rejuvenate your soul.

The journey is serene and enchanting because we were greeted by cascading waterfalls, meandering rivers, and lush greenery as far as the eye could see.

The region’s natural beauty is truly awe-inspiring, and the monsoon season amplifies it to another level.

I was mesmerized by the sight of raindrops glistening on the leaves and the soothing sound of water flowing through the valleys.

Bhoyare Maval is the exact location where we visited, it’s a small village and an offbeat destination, so less crowd.

The combination of the monsoon clouds and the lush green landscape below creates a truly exhilarating experience.

We found a couple of truly captivating spots where we paused our journey to get out of our car. One was situated nearby a lake and the other close to a waterfall. The rain was intermittently falling and it created a remarkable atmosphere.

A thick blanket of fog obscured our view of the large windmills. It wasn’t until the sun began to shine that we finally managed to catch a glimpse. We decided to linger there for a while before continuing our journey back toward Pune. The journey on the road was a delightful blend of excitement and tranquillity.

The condition of the roads was excellent, providing a smooth and easy drive. Along the way, we treated ourselves to some tasty local favorites- vada pav, and chai and relished it amidst the pleasant drizzle.

My advice? Don’t stress about planning. All you need for this road trip is the gusto to hit the road and a yearning for some beautiful sights and sounds. Trust me, you’ll cherish every moment of this short, sweet journey!
